There's a scene in one of Wendell Barry's Port William novels where, after the family patriarch dies, his wife reflects that, "it was an ordinary crisis that they had to learn to bear." I wrote that phrase down because it captures something important about life. Some of the moments that shape (or shake!!) our faith most deeply are not extraordinary events, but the ordinary crises we face along the way. In this sermon series, Ordinary Crisis, we'll explore four areas of life that can challenge and deepen our faith: Aging, Grief, Mental Health, and Tragedy.
